Cookie & Tracking Notice

1. Categories
- Essential: security, authentication, delivering the service you request
- Preferences: local UI state (e.g. collapsed nav) — not advertising
- Analytics / marketing: not used on the marketing site today
2. Marketing site
Intended for essential delivery only (HTTPS and basic functionality). We do not currently run third-party behavioral analytics suites, advertising pixels, or social tracking tags here. If we add privacy-respecting analytics later, we will list the provider, what is collected, and opt-out options on this page.
3. Product web app
- NextAuth session cookies — keep you signed in and protect routes. Essential; blocking them breaks login. Production uses secure cookie attributes over HTTPS.
- localStorage preferences — e.g. sidebar group open/closed, onboarding checklist collapsed state. Device-local UX only.
- API access is tied to your authenticated session — sign out on shared devices.
4. Mobile app
The mobile app generally uses on-device secure storage (tokens, cached profile, push tokens when enabled) rather than browser cookies. See Privacy for mobile categories.

6. Your choices
- Browser settings can block/delete cookies — blocking essential cookies breaks product login
- Sign out to end your product session
- Clear site data for app.evidentum.ai to reset local UI preferences
- We do not use cross-site advertising cookies today; if that changes, we will update this notice and applicable opt-outs
7. Why this stays simple
Evidentum is an investigation platform, not an ad network. Essential-only cookies at launch keep disclosures honest and simpler. Adding trackers later is a deliberate change that requires updating this page and Privacy.
